Isn't the Emperor the guy we always see for the UE? That stone faced lady killer?

Edit: haha! you're making him sound like Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars and/or The Emperor Of Mankind from Warhammer smiley: stickouttongue "Through intrigue and discovery he established his bloody control over almost all of humanity, and began a long and drawn out crusade carrying out his xenophobic ideals."

My custom faction, the Ulysses Republic, is basically a democratic United empire with Sheryden ships. I always play humans in games and it kind of annoys me that the humans in endless space are a dictatorship basically.

I don't know anything about Warhammer, but I didn't know Palpatine did that sort of thing. Extended universe stuff?

Well, I'm not sure, it's definitely in the extended universe, but the reason he became Emperor and abolished the senate was because he hated aliens and didn't trust their decisions. Why do you think he only had humans around him, all generals and soldiers were humans, he enslaved the Wookies and something about Mon calamari, forgot what he did but he "forced" them to join the Galactic Alliance to Restore the Republic through his mistreatment.

Haha, I believe I read your guys, you one of the posters? I feel the same about humans smiley: wink but I think thats why they made the pilgrims, to have a non-dictator human race. But they are using the fact that the most success empire was the Roman (or at least one of) and it was ruled by one Emperor, and as George Orwell as well as several other people have shown, power gets to peoples head.

Edit: Nope haha, I read the Cherryllha

I made a custom race to play in game, and actually wrote a pretty neat story about being in a world war, then a craver swarm comes and starts bombarding and invading over the course of several years. As they start developing tech, they create nuclear missles (they were in a world war I period) and several ships based upon the cravers from stolen and destroyed (via artillery) ships and pushed them back only to realize the craver fleet had already drained the system dry and left. So they began their nomadic journey to find new worlds, as well as destroy the craver infestation one and for all (they're doomed smiley: wink )

Edit: Well I tried to edit LOL but appearently replied with a quote.

Just some comments :P: 1. Aren't Hissho better in offense? smiley: ohh 2. In the year 3437 the UE interplanetary colonisation fleet, headed up by several human corporations was engaged and destroyed by unknown alien forces in the system of Loa. Wouldn't their honor interfere with attacking unarmed ships? ;P

Edit:Hissho tomb world, they have those? O_O Notable of these fleets was 'Tesla rain' the first UE fleet primarily equipped with Energy weapons O_O

That's why the UE needed a 3-1 ratio of ships to get even close to a draw, after that the UE got a lot better at fighting the Hissho.

Never said they weren't armed, and they were disturbing the Tomb of their last emperor, a offense punishable by death, especially for unknown aliens.

And yes, I feel like the Hissho's culture means that they have many relics and tombs of hero's and notable events, Loa was such a system, uncolonized but beloved by the emperor.

An the UE energy weapon fleet was primarily equipped with laser weapons, the first energy weapon in Endless space, but feel free to change that detail if it bothers you too much.
