This is an awesome announcement @The-Cat-o-Nine-Tales ! So happy.

I DO have a question. It's really not clear to me in what way the pre-order and digital deluxe ED bonuses like Avatar, Decorations and Profile Symbols will be useable. Are these simply forum goodies, or will they actually be useable IN the game ? And if in the game, mostly useful in SP or in MP ?

Once again, very excited and can't wait for April to come ;-)

That is correct. The second OpenDev scenario is available through Stadia, not Steam.

At release, the game will of course be available on both platforms.

Will "Open Dev" ever be available through Steam again? Just "Stadia" is not available for Russia, where many are waiting for "Humankind".

Hi, and thank you for great news!

Please don't get me wrong - I am super excited about the game and will happily preorder it, but I also feel obligated to mention a few things:

1) What is it with Stadia-exclusive OpenDev? I mean come on, I hope they at least payed you well to deprive your loyal PC fans in favor of some lousy cloud gaming thing-y... But if not, please don't do it - Stadia might be okay in a case or two, but overall it is simply google's moneygrab which IMHO should be avoided.

2) Why do preorder on Epic Store and Steam cost the same? Isn't the whole point of having anything on EGS is to save some money on store comission? It would be nice and fair if you would pass at least some of these savings to customers - after all it is us who have to deal with that questionable store to make these savings possible...
3) Again, don't get me wrong - I am not a fan of Steam neither - GOG sounds like a better place for me, which is missing from the list - I hope only temprary?

That being said, I do wish you the best of luck, and looking forward to more information, playable content (beta maybe?) and great game in April 2021!

Is only the digital deluxe edition available as a pre-order or are the deluxe edition contents an added bonus as a pre-order? Is the base game going to be the same 60€ price when it launches and deluxe priced higher, or is the 60€ the deluxe price?

Yeah. but I can't read the steam image because it's too small and it still doesn't indicate if the pricing will be different there. Just that there will be 2 different versions like previous games and the deluxe version is the one available for pre-order.

I pre-ordered as soon as the announcement hit. Looking forward to stay on board for the long haul for this game!

It must be said though.... doing any side deals with Stadia isn't really going to be great in terms of providing you any sort of feedback like the first Opendev did. I hope Google paid you a fair bit for the exposure but.... in terms of getting anyone excited to try out your game and provide feedback this certainly wasn't going to hit home with your core audience. Stadia is practically a dead platform before even the next gen consoles revealed how they are cleaning house as is for features / perks.

I hope the Stadia decision helps the devs but if anyone thinks Stadia is going to be a solid platform for the launch of the game in the future with Stadia bleeding members and relevance..... I couldn't imagine how anyone can get to that point of view lol. I'd imagine Steam will by and large be the platform of choice followed by some on Epic. After all... the core Civilization players are all on Steam and have no need for Stadia. I would suggest putting the game up on GoG as that would generate more attention than Stadia for another playform of choice.
