Games2Gether is a great platform that bridged a big gap between gamers and game creators, not entirely, but definitely more than whatever we had up until now. Which is great and I'm happy this community is thriving.

But the whole vibe of empowering the common user, the gamer of the 21st century is quite similar both in GOG and in CD ProjectRed's GOG. It is a shame we don't see endless games on the GOG store. I know there is much more behind the curtain than just let's use GOG. Many people have a say in this issue, and I can only guess that the ones higher up the ranks are concerned about helping the company thrive in other ways than just making their users feel good. DRM and much more...

But wouldn't it be nice? Imagine the possibilities...

Now probably stop, cause we're all just gonna get sad.

Amplitude's games rely on Steamworks API, so if this wasn't forsought ahead, it would be quite hard to move it elsewhere.

We're keen on offering as many players the possibility of playing our game, but in the past we've always ran into a scale problem. The more platform you are on, the more you need behind-the scenes work in terms of production (builds, patches, support) and marketing (brand management, store management).

It is a bit early to commit to one answer or the other, but when we know more, we'll let you know.

I'm happy to hear this kind of response. It must be a lot of work for sure. I'm more than happy to support an open-minded studio on its journey. And if the moment we mentioned ever comes, we'll be here to witness it and proudly bear the flags.

There were exquisit physical copies for Endless Space and Endless Space 2, and for Endless Legend too I think. I'd be surprised if there wouldn't also be physical copies for Humankind. Plus you're already a physical human.

I hate GOG installers because they force intall updates to the Visual C++ runtimes that are already up to date and these GOG installers have made a mess of the runtime libraries before causing me to have to reinstall all of them it over agian, would be nice if GOC would give an option to reinstall update the runtimes ect, but no they most the time just automatically force install runtimes that are already installed.

I found that you can manually unpack GOC install binaries by using Universal Extractor but some GOC bins just refuse to unpack manually as if they where locked with kind of encryption key because all I can can pull back is garbled data of millions files and folders with scrambles names.

What I like about steam is they will do very clean installs with recent updates and will only mess with extra runtimes updates with permissions given.

I would also prefer GOG. The terms and conditions of Steam are inacceptable and illegal by European privacy laws.
