Hello. Im a Civ player here but i think soon i will play Humankind to. waiting for more videos and info first, but it looks and sounds good alredy. So how will the maps look like? will we have the option to play on a real world map? I mean the hole map and not just on smaller regions like only europe for this and that scenario. Its cool with different maps anyway so people can play on what they want. I really hope they will release a map/scenario editor so we can make the maps ourself :) that would be the best. How big will the maps be?

I think that there will be a real world map, but I am just guessing as I think that this has not been approved by the devs. But I also think that a world map is hard to balance if you really want to make it realistic.

But my guess is that there will be a world map and we will soon find out more about that.

The Gamescom presentation was using a real world map. Albeit restricted to the Western World (Europe, North Africa, Middle East). The Steam screenshots are from the same map.

The whole idea, why some civilizations strived and others didin't was that the world is not balanced :D

I'm old fan of CIV's games  with over thousands of hours. I been playing Your games as well sometimes and like them. I'm piss of currently on CIV VI with crashes  on giant earths maps from YET map packs. So I'm looking on this one with so hope. If You gonna make world map with TSL and civs you gonna get true fan for Your series. Looking forward for it.

I'm not sure true starting locations is compatible with Humankind. Unlike Civ, you aren't picking your culture at the beginning and then spawning into the map- you start as a generic tribe in the neolithic era and then pick your cultures from then-on. It's possible this is something the modding community will take a look at where you (at the very least) pick your starting culture and spawn in, but that's entirely dependent on how powerful the modding tools are.

Also Martin83, this thread was 2 years old before you replied. Please look for a newer thread, or start your own next time.

I think that world map with true starting location could be very interesting if AI and human Players can switch only to civs close by the original ones. Like nubia/egypt for exemple or rome/france/germany/etc..  Also if we found colony, with the new stability system it could be very interesting if the biggest colony found their own contry! For exemple england's colony become united states! Potentially Humankind can take the lead in that kind of games if the release is good. I am a big fan of all civilization game and i will tell you, Civ VI is not so good.
