sorry for my poor english

Is maximum number of player fixed?

i know that the number of major faction is 10 in one era.

player and ai must choose culture when first city is built

i know that Amplitude wants to give a right to choose for last player.

So i know that there are able to be 8 players when 10 faction exist.

But Endless legend have customizing major faction and I think that Amplitude will not give up these functions.

besided mods probably can add more major or minor factions.

so although the total number of factions will increase, is maximum player number still 8?

there are enormous maps in Civ or El too.

fixed 8 player can be cause of boring playng.

well.. as a matter of fact, 8 maximum player will not be problem if Amplitude makes minor factions realistic great enough.

but obstinately..?

Equally bad English. I think I can answer your question. There are ten different civilizations in each era. If the game settings cannot choose the same civilization. Then, before there is no supplementary package, a game can only have ten players at most. Including real players and computer simulation players. Based on some known information, I think the production team wants to have at least eight players. Of course, if there are maps of different sizes, maybe we can adjust the number of players more flexibly. Although the same civilization is forbidden by default in the civilization series. But players can still adjust the settings to make the same civilization appear at the same time. This will make the game more interesting. I hope this game can do the same. To avoid boredom before the new supplement comes out.

i'm anxious because of Amplitude's past choice.

Endless Legend's maximum player number was

only eight. Although DLCs and 5 additional factions exist. it never changed.

I don't want Amplitude to repeat same mistake.

I don't want Amplitude to make meaningless limit lines on HUMANKIND.

While the number of available Cultures is one factor in the maximum number of players (an may be were our current goal of between 8 an 10 came from, though I do not know for sure which number will be available), tere are other factors to consider: Map size, balance, and performance. More players on a map of the same size impacts the balance and the gameplay experience, but increasing the map size requires more resources for graphics, pathfinding, and probably many other things I don't know about because I am not technically versed enough. It may even impact the AI, but I also don't know enough about that to tell for sure.

I hate the system what completing speed of reserching or culture techs depends on almost tile yield like civilization.

so I am looking forward to reinforced horizontal technologies spread in HUMANKIND.

In civilization, reserch trade or sceince with caravans is too nonintuitive or deficent.

it was meaningless.

but in this way, I know that more unexpected factions will be able to spoil the game speed, If some functions like diplomacy or trade are related with faction's number.

but anyways, regardless of these blind spots and map size, i think that fixed maximum number of player is still not good idea. it is unnecessary limit.

well max is 10 players total and they also have max on number of turns till game ends which seems to be 600 on epic setting and largest world map huge is I belive same hex number or square size number as large in civ 4 about large size in civ 5 i believe.

with ability to download other peoples leaders and, supposedly having endless number of c ultras that you can create - i do not really get limit, why not let people pick same theological cultural if during game play you can edit it anyways and change it - I also personally do not care for turn limits when me and my friends and my wife play these games like stellairs or galatic civ 3 or civ 4 games we tend to play last months and months before they are finished.

I think map sizes should be allowed to be larger and allow for more AI players in game even in mutiplayer, some of our fav mods for civ 5 added 40 civs to the map and we play with standarded size map made for a lot of competition.

but limits was reason why me and my friends never bought or got into endless series for like endless space. its not endless if there limits lol

Well, the performance needs to be optimized for larger maps - even if mods can add additional slots in the future and you have a pretty good machine I very much doubt it that the game will run fine. This is a lot more graphic and processor-intensive than Civ 6, with all its running parts and quite a few more districts on a map. :)
