I don't know if a thread like this has been posted before, but I'm curious about what the achievements will be like in Humankind. I'm always an achievement hunter in these types of games, and I hope the devs will give us no shortage of achievements to go for.

Here's a few suggestions:

Haven't we seen this before?

With either the Khmer or Aztec culture, successfully siege London

Some things never change.

With any culture from India, be the first player to use a Nuclear Weapon

All Roads lead to Rome

With Roman culture, connect at least ten cities by road.

Since roads seem to spawn automatically I'm not sure the Roman achievement is, well, much of an achievement, but the other two sound like fun ideas and references.

An alternative for the Roman achievement given the automatic roads could be to connect to Rome with roads from at least 8(?) adjacent regions.

It would actually be:

With Modern India culture, build nuclear weapon

As it would be the only one able to do it, except if you trenscend every time i guess, or if you count previous pick as valid

Why not let players transcend for the achievement?

I love the idea of achievements in this game!

I personally would like to see some small achievements you can go for on a whim.  Some fairly rigid achievements you have to dedicate an entire game to, as well as some historically inspired achievements like:

 1)  “Reconquista” You get it by retaking lost land in a war as Spain.

2) “IF” achieved by winning a defensive war as Greece.

3) “Sun Tzu, who?” which you can get by killing an enemy unit in a highly ill-advised way, such as attacking a pikemen with a knight fighting uphill.

4) “I think we could build an empire on this!” for discovering coal as England.

Also I’d like to request, please allow achievements to be earned in a modded game.  As someone who loves playing with mods it’s very disheartening having to pick between moding a game and earning achievements and I’d really like to not have to make that choice with Humankind.

I really like this thread, and I would very much like to see what the rest of the community thinks!

Could be cool to unlock ingame emblem with achievement. Exemple with Greek culture, we already seen a Meandros emblem , could be cool to unlock Verginia Sun (Macedonian symbol) if you beat the Persian, or the Athenian symbol (the owl) or the Spartan one :p.

Some of achievement idea I shared on CivFanatics :

What if Vikings really worn Horned Helmets ?
Go from trenscended Mycenaean to Norsemen
Alexander's only regret

Burn/Ranksacking Persepolis as Greek
Saddest anime betrayal
Ranksacking Constantinople as Franks
Vinland Saga
Be the first to discover another continent as Norsemen
Ptolemaic dynasty
Go from Egyptian to Greek
Pyrrhic victory
Win a battle but losing all your units
Indomitable Gauls (Asterix reference)
Protect your Celt city from multiple Roman sieges
The Great Wall in China
Perfect Ming victory versus Mongols siege

Wait For It...

As the Mongols conquer 12 cities, have multiple religions in the empire, and multiple trade routes.

What Is The Capital Of Assyria? (Monty Python refrence)

As Assyria own 4 capitals.

Everyone Expected That (another Monty Python refrence)

As the Spanish, supress a foreign religion.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?

As the Romans, have a city with negative approval rating.

OG Venetian

Win as the Venetian's with only one city.

Great Law Of Peace

As the Haudenosaunee be allied with 5 other players.

Deus Vult!

As the Teutons, kill 10 units of an opposing religion with Teutonic Knights.

Apocalypse Now For Real This Time (Civ 5 reference)

As Maya, Nuke a player in 2020. (idk if years will be counted in this game)

I really like this idea of achievements celebrating how the empires have evolved, e.g. from Mycenaean to Norsemen and from Egyptian to Greek. I wonder as well about something like:
Closed Borders - win the game with empires from all the same geographical areas, e.g. SE Asia
or,
It's a small world after all... - win the game using an empire from each geographical area

There's a saying you younguns may not have heard: "It's Elephants all the way down."  This has to do with the fact that the world rests on a turtle, and the turtle stands on four elephants, and then the elephants stand on, well, more elephants.

Having played Victor OpenDev several times, I propose the following Achievement:

It's Elephants all the way up! - Every civ you play has an elephant unit.
