I really wished to try the Stadia Demo but my system setup is not compatible with Stadia.
I am very sad to not be able to try the demo.

Any chance the demo will be added to Steam?

At least maybe for those who have pre-ordered the game?

Hopefully what ever contract they have with Google doesn't last very long and they can open the game to early acess on steam or at least a playable demo

OpenDev is not a demo at all, it is an alpha test. Many features are far from finalized and the game has many bugs which they intend to remove before launch. They are performing this test to get feedback on how the community likes the game, what they think needs to change, what is hard to understand in the UI, etc. This test is not to show case game play as the game play is unfinished at this time and subject to change.

This test is being performed on Stadia to test certain how the game runs on Stadia, among other things. The previous test was on Steam. This is not a promotion, nor are there any exclusivity agreements; the game will launch on Steam, Epic Games, and Stadia at the same time for the same price.

As Eulogos states, it's not like most people would actually enjoy playing it for the few days it's on Stadia it's more of a technical demo. Having played the previous Opendev scenarios myself, when they were available on Steam, I can attest to say you should only be concerned about missing out on an experience such as this unless you are ready to really beta test a game and give a plethora of feedback. If you want to play an actual full fleshed out game and provide no feedback at all on the nuances of the gameplay you are testing this won't be anything to miss.

Either which way... while I have no proof to say what I am about to assume.... I would assume we will see more Opendev or some kind of beta test to Steam players in the future as we have a long time to go from now until April 2021. So stay tuned I'd say with your conqueror sword for all things 4x.

If your system for some reason isnt compatible with stadia (only requirement is google Chrome, google account, be in stadia supported country or use a vpn, and have decent internet connection), keep in mind you can use it with Stadia app on phone or tablet (not the best but still work)

No Problem with Humankind and Stadia over here. Played great with no hickups. Thanks for the chance to play the game early!

With customer support's help, I was able to track down the issue.
I connect to the internet with my laptop via hotspot through my phone.

The issue is the hotspot degrades the Stadia signal resulting in severe blurring and pixelation.

I live mobily so do not have a dedicated line to the internet.

Save for the rare instance of throttling in heavy net traffic areas this has never been an issue before.

I can stream Youtube, Netflix, and Disney+ with no issues as well as play many multiplayer games.
