Am I going insane or were we able to attach fully-fledged cities (as opposed to just outposts) to another city in the previous opendev? Was that removed or are there specific requirements now?
If it was removed I imagine it was for balancing or such but I'd really like a way to deal with cities that I don't actually want. Namely, if I take over an indepdent because they popped up in a region I wanted to connect to an existing city I have then it's not ideal I have to manage +1 city while also not getting to coalesce my territory.
Then again, this is coming from someone who razes 50-80% of the cities that I capture to the ground in civ because the AI puts them too close together for maximum efficiency when they get large enough to harvest every tile they can..
Short of coalescing cities together, I'd like it if there was some form of governor automation since even the opendev if I take over the continent it becomes a bit of a chore managing everything, particularly again with all of the independent cities. (I sort of assume this is planned or I missed the button for it, since it's kind of a standard in games like this nowadays but I'll ask for it specifically nonetheless).
Cities can be merged in the Stadia OpenDev but you'll need to reach Military Achitecture in the Medieval area. That is only possible with the Greeks due to their Science Affinity allowing them to research 1 era ahead.
As for the automated city management, check out the attached picture.
Ah, good to know, didn't catch that. Only done runs as Celts and the Huns so far (huns are hilarious btw, give them a try if you haven't. I built 3 of their units and ransacked them into an army of 15 or 20)
Dont those only apply to population distribution? Will try, maybe it kept cancelling autobuild from me ordering construction.
That management selection is just for populations, but the constructon que can litterally handle queing up all the buildings. So just load it up and forget it.

Thank you! I don't know why this didn't cross my mind, but I am definately gonna try the greeks out to test out Era 3 technologies next time.
