Did I miss a tutorial?

It's a spawn point for neutral animals, can be ransacked for resources. I've also seen a Lair (I think it was called) that spawned aggressive animals (bears).

A tip is that in early game it can be a good idea to leave them be so they keep spawning animals You can kill for more loot. :P

If You ransack them they will stop spawning. So I only do that if I have issues with agressive animals while being attacked by some AI early on, if not I leave them non ransacked and keep killing animals for them sweet lootz. :)
