One simple suggestion

I originally posted this on the game's subreddit but for better visibility, I was recommended to post here as well.

With dozens of infrastructure buildings to choose from, I think it would be a good idea to add coloured borders to indicate what each building does at a glance

For example:

A granary and fishery would have a green border to indicate an effect related to food, and a lumber yard would have an orange border to indicate an effect related to production. I admit this may be more complicated for infrastructure like watchtowers (which have multiple effects that aren't related to any yields) but this is just my two cents.

Good advice! Making the menus clearer and more intuitive. making the game more engaging

While I think that would be a great improvement indeed for infrastructures readability/visibility, right now in the game, there's a way to filter constructions by category : just select the drop-down list above (on your screenshot, where it's written "All (54)") and you'll be able to sort everything by Food, Industry, Money, Science, Influence, Military, etc ....

One could argue that constructions artworks already identifies each category (green overall for food related infrastructures, yellow for money, blue for science, and so on), I think adding your suggestion would make things clearer on the general list for infrastructures.

Good suggestion. I find it sincerely hard to navigate the current visually overwhelming production list, and the list mode doesn't help either.

+1 More colour coding in general would be great. In the build queue, on the world map when you zoom out, maybe an option next to the show hex grid and show tile yield buttons to shade tiles by yield when you're placing districts.

Colour coding would be amazing. It doesn't even require borders, just having according colors dominating the picture would work.

Amplitude has already done a fantastic job color coding the art, so idk if borders are needed. In my opinion the biggest improvement to the production UI would be expand it somewhat, as you can only really have 8 on screen at a time, its very cramped.

Very much agreed. The artworks are beautiful, but if simply shrink their size and crammed them into a grid, they can be very hard to navigate; the list view doesn't help either, since you basically cannot tell what it is in the list view, the artworks become far too small.

To be honest, a list of names is far more readable.

I disagree, the art is not color coded well, because it is not color coded clearly.  A border, is needed at least as an option.  (and list view should have the names.

Great suggestion!  Also maybe reducing the Icons size so that we can scroll or go through the list easier?  There are just so many improvements sometimes.

What I would really love to see is using monochrome illustrations (just shades of the representative color) or take an approach from civ where you have highly simplified thumbnails but then you can still see the pretty artwork and details while hovering over it. It takes me 10 scrolls to get all the way through the menu right now (partially a UI issue), and I literally can't even get two rows to fully display in the current UI (picture below). Using this simplfied thumbnail  will help recognize things more easily and especially once you're in the late game, avoid hovering over every single thing to remember what it does or which one you're looking at. I still can't remember the difference between the harbor building to give me more food, and one of the river improvements.
