When to change, or would you want to change at all?

Yes: I want Amplitude to make it so that Trancendant Cultures gain units, even if not historically accurate.
No: I want Amplitude to remain as historically accurate, and keep certain cultures behind, even if you continue them onwards.

This is a post generally just asking the question about... when should you change?
The game allows you to "continue" your culture, in theory remaining with for example "Zhou" until the modern age...
This question is twofold.

1: How long on average do you think it is viable to continue doing this? Is it just a taste thing? 
I have heard that apparently is it detrimental eventually, as the bonuses of the first cultures aren't that strong compared to others. Which I can accept.

2: Would you want Amplitude to continue with this? Would you want them to update it so that every Culture could (in theory) be brought all the way to endgame, with new units every new age even to the end of the game?
It is a huge ask, probably a bit unrealistic... As it would probably have to go into a bit of... "Alternate universe" where certain Cultures continued to progress... (which I admit, would be rather cool)

I think it's almost impossible to imagine what would have been the emblematic units and districts of a culture through time, when it never happened.

Like imagining an emblematic unit for industrial Hittites sounds just wacky. I mean, playing to a 4X with an historical context, mean than we love history, a lot of us, I don't really like to have fantasy things.

Generic bonus is the best solution (like the current fame bonus). We could have something else as generic attributes by the way. But there is already a lot of "what if" with the trenscendance system and develloping advanced technologies with a culture which didn't evolve in this era iirc.


It seems too much work too, the current system of cultures work, I prefer than they work on additional cultures, instead of working on the fantasy units of the current cultures, and it will be really hard to balance the game. Imagine if an ancient culture for exemple, has 6 uniques units, because can trenscend until contemporary era.
