Hello,

here is one Idea how this could workout  ;-)

I, has a Atheist, who just seeks knowledge.

Would love to see an option of "no religion" or "seeking knowledge". In this case instead of a Holy Site generating Faith Points, would be the places like Libraries, Universities and Natural Wonders generating for you fait points, and each time new discoveries are made!

Hope to see an option like this on the game. Other way the game would be just boring for people like me!

This is my only concern about this game, other than that the game looks Great!!

Keep up the good Work Dev's

hope that some of the Dev see's this and makes this happen! I hope yes :)

yes you can quickly become atheist in Humankind. But I think than you always start with animism/shamanism/polytheism before reaching this option, if I am no wrong.

Which is legit IMO.

So, yes Atheism exist in the game.

Formal Atheism is a later human concept.  Early Man essentially attributed things he didn't understand -- which early on was nearly EVERYTHING -- to be the purview of "the gods", whether they be animalistic or anthropomorphized deities.  Atheism as a pervasive anti-Theology only appeared AFTER formal Religions had taken root.

In Humankind, the closest you get to a NON-religious culture is when you get a Civic (which I can't recall the name) that has you choose between an areligious government -- separation of Church and State -- or anti-Religion government -- e.g. Soviet era suppression of Religion in any form.

The drawback in Humankind of divesting your culture of a Religious culture (you are your own Head of your Church), is that you lose A LOT of influence over your neighbors, many of which had converted to your Religion.  That negatively affects you BOTH politically and theologically.

So far, it does not seem to have a similar function like that of Civilization 5, where you could totally turn off Religion.

Nevertheless there is a Civic called Irreligion, which you unlock if your empire meet special condition that is unknown. I suspect it is linked to the Tenent Level of your Religion and Era... but not so sure. So if it ever became activated, then you would have two options in the Civic: Secularism vs State Atheism.

Secularism
- State becomes separated from religious body.
- In humankind Player(the State) can no longer build any new Religious Districts or choose any kind of Tenets. If you had been a Religious Leader of the Religion, then that status would also be lost. Instead, a Civilization, which controls the most Religious Districts beside you, succeed as Religious Leader.
- However, you still harvest the in-game-bonuses of Tenets. The remaining Population does not change their religious status, unless influenced by other foreign religion.
- Foreign Civilization cannot demand "You have different State Religion" or declare a war with that Demand.

State Atheism
- State dedicates itself toward purge of religious influence of any kind.
- Upon enactment, you lose your religious status, bonuses that Tenets provide, and Religious Followers in your Civilization. Or simply put, everything related to Religion is reset. (But only your state Religion. non-state-Religions still remain.)
- All Districts or Wonders, which provided faith, produce Culture instead.
- Atheism as a notion works just like Religion or Culture.
- Foreign Religions' Faith becomes 75% weaker in your Territories.
- Atheism become 25% stronger in your Territories.
- Instead of Faith, the spreading power of Atheism depends on the amount of Culture you produce.
- Foreign Civilization can still demand something similar to "You have different religion" or even declare a War with it.

Unfortunately as of Lucy OpenDev I could not see any new powerful bonuses introduced by those two choices. It is fairly weak, especially when you are the Religious Leader.
I hope this helped you a bit.
