So, I did play the Lucy Open-dev and enjoyed it a fair bit. (Note, that this first game I played on Metropolis difficulty)
So I have experienced this game before.
The most obvious thing I noticed was that it wasn't as easy as the Lucy open dev to build up an infinite amount of industry and then just build everything within 2 turns.
But at the same time was it still a bit too easy to make a city that never had any issues ever.

Food absolutely felt a BIT more required than in the Lucy open dev, however when it was an issue was it relatively simple to just set up a queue and spam out some districts without much hinderance and solve the food crisis within seconds.

HOWEVER, I do have to say that I found the AI interaction that I had very very amusing.
I started early with getting into "friendly" dispute with three fellow  nations during the ancient era.
Two of them were pushing a bit hard against me, so I built up a small army of warriors and bowmen and invaded one of the nations.
Apparently he hadn't expected that because he had next to no defenders and I took over quick Taking both of his cities and forcing him to give me a majority of his territory, essentially crippling his infrastructure for the rest of the game.

However, the amusing thing was the two other neighbours I had became VERY scared of me... And was very hesitant of going to war with me after my show of power. Meaning I could quickly use my influence to establish myself. Using the resources I had nabbed to become the main economical powerhouse on that continent.
Their reaction of fear and there after reverence was extremely satisfying and enjoyable to behold.
Especially as everyone became more or less dependant on me for resources, making me a LOT of fat dough.

Satisfaying to say the least :)
Will try on harder difficulties now to see how it feels with some real competition.
