Question about city appearance through out the eras

Hi! I am wondering if it is possible to customise the appearance of the city centers of older cities as my civilisation moves on to a new era? It kind of breaks the immersion for me to still see Greek temples mixed with my Frank castles in my medieval cities. Have I missed something? or is this not an existing feature?

Please note that this is very minor, but still, it would be nice to allow players more control over city cosmetics through out different eras.

Does it bother you seeing Pantheon in the center of the modern day Rome? I think seeing leftovers of your previous culture is a must here. City center architecture corresponds to time when you found said city. As you build more cities and later eras, you'll see more and more modern administrative buildings.

I think that's the point of being able to mix cultures.

You still see medieval castles and such in modern cities right?

It's all about alternate history - in your case, imagine that Greeks migrated to the Gallic lands, put few temples there, mixed with locals and in time they became Franks with Greek culture background :D

Thank you for sharing! I see both points and completely agree. Again, what I am asking is not that bad of an issue. I do like the idea of having a mixture of leftover architectures from different eras and civs, I just wish I could have more control over what's to keep and what's to change and where as my civ moves forward. Still like where the game is going overall :)
