Scoreboard Request

One thing I look forward to in strategy games is an after game scoreboard.  A place where your results from the round you played are recorded. Competing against myself, and finishing a round the entire way through is more fun when I the scores are recorded afterwards.

Dungeon of the Endless has the "Journal". Records all your run throughs, whether they were wins or losses, which characters you used and the final score. Also it has a lifetime tally of certain stats, like total doors opened. Though my journal is filled with lots (...and lots) of losses, I enjoy see where each attempt lands compared to previous ones.

Endless Space 2 has a great scoreboard, "Empire Chronicles". The Chronicles list all the basic results of the game, score/empire used/victory type, etc. It also links to the end game results screen, so you get a great review of the indepth statistics of the round. (The EC is hidden awkwardly in the main menu under the Games2gether tab)

The Civ series has been doing their "Hall of Fame" since I started back at Civ 3. However in 6 Firaxis didn't implement the HoF until an expansion, so unfortunately all scores previous to that were lost. The HoF is well done though, showing each leader and victory type, highlighting their image when you win a game with one, as well as ranking the score results. Just looking at this makes me want to work on filling the entire page out.

Endless Legend does not have a scoreboard (unless its more hidden than in ES2 and I just haven't come across it). It's not exciting having Steam achievements being your only record of winning with X clan, and they can never show you how well you did that round, or how many losses it took you before you got that win.

I'm hoping this simple feature, that adds so much replay value to a strategy game, will make it to the menu when Humankind is released!

....I guess its just me. ha

I know its a simple feature that is likely to be added, I probably don't need to be wondering (slightly concerned) about it this far out.

You're not alone. A Hall of Fame feature is close to the top of my most-wanted feature list in any strategy game. I would happily play another session of a less-than-perfect 4X game if it had a HoF. I was very disappointed that Civ 6 shipped without it as well.

I don't need masses of stats on the HoF although the more it shows, the better. But as long as I can see my previous cores, I'm happy and be more inclined to play one more game if it's there...

Just started the game, and first thing I'm doing is scouring the menu screens for a Hall of Fame. Not seeing anything. Did they really miss such an obvious thing to include?

Hoping that one appears after you finish your first game, but its doubtful at this point.

So disappointed.

Just finished my first game, and after watching the well done post game graphics, the results are just lost. There is no way to return and watch those highlights again in the main menu, through some scoreboard.

I guess I'll start leaving a save file for each game at the victory/defeat turn. Hopefully one day the devs include this simple, common game feature.

@Cristata , while some of us did mention the feature of a hall of fame during opendev, and I gotta believe they will eventually do it, may I remind you that Civ 6 did not have this feature for like 2 years after it's launch. I cannot recall if Civ 5 launched with this feature as that has been too long ago. I am just pointing this out that even while Civ started this idea they themselves have slipped up and didn't include it at the start of the more recent iterations which was quite bizarre so use this to some context as to what devs are prioritizing on for a game launch vs what you will likely see after launch.

I am not certain if Stellaris or Crusader Kings 3 has a system like this so out of curiosity it would be cool if someone knew to chime in since those are also quite popular strategy game IPs.

@kryton24

You kind of just reiterated a lot of what I said in my original post. (which dates back three months, I just bumped it instead of making a new one). I still despise looking at my civ 6 hall of fame and see certain leaders not "crossed off" cause of the mistake in delaying their HoF. hah

I do hope Amplitude can just make something as close to their ES2 Empire Chronicles for Humankind. I'll be holding onto my save files to input my current games scores if they ever do.
