I made the pre-purchase a few days ago but just today I went to see if my computer meets at least the minimum specifications and I was surprised seeing that it doesn't even come close to them, what do I do? Do I try to get the refund and lose the pre-sale discount and bonus and with that wait a long time to get money for a new pc and MAINLY suffer from anxiety or do I try to play the game with the notebook turning into an HP heater?

With the high dollar, it is very difficult to change machines. ´I seriously didn´t imagine that the game would require so much of the machine

Perhaps give it a shot with your current machine and see how it goes.  It may not over heat as much as you expect, or it may.  Perhaps just keep the game since you got it at a discount and see how well it runs, you can also turn down graphics settings some and that may help

:)

Good luck

Keep it and see how it runs! If it's playable then great, if not, then keep it around till you get a new pc :)
I played 24h through the OpenDevs @15fps, purely because I love the game so much and lower FPS won't stop me from pre-ordering >:)

i think on steam you can refund if you played less than 2 hours no? if so you can probably refund after running the game to see if you can run it or not

Have a look into GeForce NOW, allows you to play games you own via stream - So streaming it from very capable hardware straight to your laptop, they announced it would be available for GeForce NOW.

Steam allows you to refund any game with less than two hours of playtime for things like technical problems and the like, so if you give it a shot and it doesn't run well/at all you should be able to get a refund, and you should definitely be able to tell within two hours. Buying a new computer is an option, but that depends almost entirely on your budget, y'know? I wouldn't recommend it unless you have some free disposable income right now, which judging by how you're debating over saving ten dollars on if to keep the game, chances are you don't.

I have no idea what the value of the game will be after pre-sales mainly in dollars and it wouldn't be the only factor that I want it now, the best thing will be if I leave the game in the Steam library even if the game doesn't run but probably run, I've had doubts in another forum, the price issue would only be for a new pc with recommended specs as it would be imported and thus totally based on dollars (1.00 dollar = 5.25 real) and high taxes but this it's another question...

I don't think you have any alternative but to refund the game on Steam and buy it again later when you have a machine that meets the requirements. It's not a cheap game, even with the pre-order discount and you said you would suffer from anxiety so refund it. Yes, I understand that it's a very big disappointment but you're not helping yourself by holding onto an unplayable game. That would be even more frustrating, it being there but you can't enjoy it.

There will be sales so if you get a new computer before Christmas, you'll likely get everything that you currently 'own' for even less.

Yeah, listen to this person. Depending on when you buy your computer you could pick Humankind up for cheaper than it is now.

You really only have two options:

1. You refund the game.

2. You keep the game.

In either case you will also need a better PC to play the game.

The game is running, obviously with fps drop but for a turn game it doesn't bother me

Do not draw conclusions from sites that assess your pc's performance running a game kkkkk
