Can't End Turn With An Outpost?

So I have 1 completed outpost, and 1 outpost pending in 2 turns.

I don't want Outpost 1 to become a city, but 'You Have An Outpost That Can Become A City' overrides 'End Turn'. The game is literally forcing me to turn my first outpost into a city since I can't skip the notification?

There's an option in the settings for this kind of event, but I'm not sure if it works with the city creation as well. IIRC it's called force end turn, but I would recommend creating a city as soon as u reach the ancient era because it will grant you a passive science production and outposts won't be able to create new units in the ancient era.

There is no option called "force end turn". If you are referring to "Enable Mandatories" under the UI menu in settings, it doesn't fix this problem whether turned on or off.

This was a terrible gameplay design oversight if there is no way around it.

I don't think it is a gameplay design oversight, because I don't have this problem in my game. Maybe a bug ?

The game prevents you from moving to the next turn because your evolution to the ancient era is an indication of your readiness to found your first city. You'd also have a negative money income if you didn't, which isn't an immediate problem but w/e.

It's not turned off by the mandatories because it falls into the category of *absolutely necessary* items to be completed before your turn is up

It is a bit dumb. Outposts go from costing 40 to 120 influence after u evolve to a city (and thats before counting in distance they can accelerate the cost to 300+), so while they are tons of benefits from it, in some cases u might wanna wait 1 or 2 turns, getting down good outposts.

While you can get around it by simply not aging up before u got the outposts u want, it's a bit of a roockie trap that rly shouldent be there.
