I don't see why would we want to choose an agrarian culture in the late game? How can it be helpful?

to gain higher fame with the population stars?!

people play differently due to their preference or what the map dictates.
maybe you can only go tall in early- and mid-game (because your trapped between your neighbours) and then go wide in the late-game.

In my opinion it would have been restricting if we couldn't go agragrian in late-game.

Happy gaming

As Evaniar said for fame ofc, but also if you already have relatively strong food output you can choose agrarian culture to double the fame you get from fame stars.

More food means more population which can be used to work in different directions - more units, more Production/Gold/Science or simply build more districts faster with that same Production or Gold.

Also if you play with a New World depending on when you discover it you may need to populate it. It fits well that Brazilians are an agrarian culture, since they very quickly populated the enormous territory of Brazil. :)

I'm sure OP didnt mean that agrarian culture should be deleted or restricted from the last era, I think that he means that there is no point.

From my first 2 games that I played I noticed that population almost doesn't scale at all in the late game and is only good for units.

After the 3rd era districts start to make up most of your output. In my first game even at turn +250 (on normal speed) my +100 pop cities got 70%-80% of their production, food, science and money from districts even with all most buildings that increase pop yields. And in my 2nd I reached at least 2 stars for pop without going agrarian once.

Pops are at least for now only good in the first 2 eras where you need to rally on them to make money and science, if you didnt pick a science or money culture.

The problem in my opinion is that population yields dont scale so much as district/buildings yields. At least this is my experience for now.
