Some players want to be able to pick the culture they want. Of course. This isn't a surprise. Why this gets other peoples' panties in a twist is beyond me. Who cares what the OP's name is or how that person wants to play their game? Who cares that some rando on the internet tells you that you suck because you don't like the exact same thing they like? Lol. Get over yourself.

If one person is posting here wanting to play whatever culture they want to play even if someone else already selected it, it's pretty likely that lots of other people feel the exact same way. Personally, I think the dev should add this as a feature, especially since the cultures are very unbalanced. My spouse and I have already played multiple games like this with our mod, and it's fun. I also think the dev should look into balancing the cultures. They made a lot of changes to the game in the pre-launch period, and several of those changes were not accompanied by changes that balanced the cultures which were substantially impacted by the changes. Further, some cultures have bonuses that don't fit with the current barebones conception of the game (mid-late game cultures that get a religious buff spring to mind). The game needs work. Some of that work, imo, should be expanding player options. This will only make the game more appealing to more people - the goal of someone who's trying to sell their game.

It doesn't really take much time to develop an option that allows people to pick whichever culture they want. We've already added this option to our game, and it didn't take much time.

You just need to own Greece to pick Greeks. So it kind of does. 

That mod is a good mod, and I recommend it for people using the special map with which it is associated. I am not trying to knock that mod at all. However, the intention of that mod is a little different than what I'm talking about. I'm talking about a mod that makes the ability to pick whatever culture you want a choice you make at the beginning of each game. You can choose to have a rule that says each culture can be selected once, or you can have a rule that says each culture can be selected multiple times. We made a mod like that, and it's available HERE. The mod makes a checkbox that you can select and de-select when you set up the game.
