the game won't start.

Hi. I have got the Lucy OpenDev game installed via Steam, but the game won't start when I try to launch it. I already tried validating the game file and reinstalling the game but it doesn't fix anything.

Is there anything you can help here?

I just check the file location you ask me to. there's nothing but a readme notepad inside. Am i missing anything here?

Well that's weird. Could you check this path ?

\AppData\LocalLow\AMPLITUDE Studios\Humankind\Player.txt

If you meant for me to check INSIDE the Temporary Files folder, there's nothing but a readme file just like I told you earlier.

Yeah, seems like the game is not launching at all (was expecting at least a crash at launch...).

Could you try to run the .Exe in the installation folder, just to see if it behave differently ?

I tried to launch it both from start botton in Steam and application launcher in the installation folder. Results are the same. Just a quick blink of an app launching with a game icon appearing in taskbar for just a sudden moment and then it disappears.

I found another player who encounter the same issue as me on Steam. Could it be something to do with Ryzen CPU? I run thegame on AMD Ryzen.

I suspect the antivirus program too, even though I don’t have Avast, just normal Window Security. However, I already tried turning off the antivirus protection and still ended with the same result.

Yep it was Avast its always fk Avast :/

I dont think turning it off will work becouse it blocks it at the instalation - For me fix was easy just had to uninstal put whole steam folder as "white list" and it instal again - It worked i can play now

I am facing the same problem. My Avast (antivirus) see files as sus of win32:bogEnt.
The game freezes at loading screen at about 90% loaded. Any ideas what could be the problem?

Update: I did a "Verify Integrity of Game Files" on Steam under the "Properties --> Local Files" tab, and it works fine now. Hope this helps others facing the same problem!

Hi,

Same here.

Integrity check ok, tryed to launch from steam, from instalation files, tryed to launch as an administrator, unistalled and re installed, nothing goes further than a loading screen after hit "start". Sometimes even crash with a unity popup.

Another one - I hope this helps! My symptoms -- after pressing Start, loading screen appears, gets to about 90% and then hangs there.

Machine is pretty old - windows 8, 8GB RAM, Dell Inspiron 15R

I have tried:

Making sure display drivers are up to date

Launching as Admin from the install directory (rather than launching from steam)

Uninstall and Reinstall

Uninstall, Reinstall, Verify installation files

I'm out of ideas -- anything else i can try?

I just started playing yesterday. I played it straight for like 10 hours and then it crashed on me when going to a save menu. I tried restarting but it won't let me sign into my account - as in the box pops up but it won't allow me to type In the email or password box. It won't let me select skip either, but the tooltip does pop up if I hover.

I've tried restarting several times, time thing each time. I tried typing random keys and key combos and it crashed my system. So it's clearly getting hung up by the time the sign in box pops up.

My system specs:

5K 2020 iMac i7 3.8GHz

128GB RAM

Radeon Pro 5700XT w/ 16GB GDDR6

Running Win10 with Bootcamp on SSD
