Crashes within first few turns of game, every game

  • Description: The game boots up fine, no lag on lowest graphics. After a couple of turns it freezes while just trying to do anything at all. Have tried going in different directions from start point, nothing seems to make a difference.
  • Steps to Reproduce: Start game, walk anywhere, crash
  • Reproducibility: 5/5
  • Notes* My system specs (I am almost positive it has to do with my integrated graphics card) - From what I can see (knowing nothing about how these things work, "Async GPU request has error" is what kills it for me every time).

Processor    11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1145G7 @ 2.60GHz   1.50 GHz

Installed RAM    16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)

Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics

Approx. Total Memory: 8181 MB

Display Memory (VRAM) 128 MB

Shared Memory: 8053 MB

System type    64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

bump I guess? anyone else having this problem? I tried it on another, worse machine (freaking microsoft surface pro) and it... runs at least. Can't get over about 15 fps at lowest settings, but thats to be expected. Thats why I am trying to run it on the computer I originally listed, still no luck though even trying to delete appdata files and document files and every other fix I've read about on here.

I'm having the same problem, tried setting graphics to lowest, restarting computer, and uninstalling & reinstalling. Still crashing everytime, can't make it more than 4 turns in

Crazy that no one has chimed in from the dev team. I know it's still in testing so I don't expect a fix for this round, but I just hope they are made aware. I've had to cancel my preorder in the meantime since I can't be sure it's playable on my machine. Back to Civ VI I guess.

For sure, they have been doing a great job. I know I posted this on Sunday so I'm wondering if they are answering in the order they receive them. Time will tell, good luck to you in the meantime!

I saw in some of the other threads that anti-virus can interfere with the game trying to save files and that can cause crashing. Didn't work for me, but you might try excluded the game from your anti-virus software if you haven't yet
