Same here. 

I got the game on Epic  Games,  I still have several issues but for cloud. 

If it is Epic I suggest : verify game - It downloads a bit and than Sync the game  from libraru again.

Please try that, besides them I will have some issues to which post separately

Same issues with steam save clouds arent working. Had to recreate character also.

Same problem here.  When I right click the game in steam and go to properties I have "keep games saves in Steam Cloud for Humankind" checked but it says 0 bytes stored.  But when I go to the steam cloud page at https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorageapp/ all my saves from my other computer are listed there.  I was able to download my save from this site and paste it into the humankind folder on my machine and load the save that way but cloud saving is definitely borked.

I can only add that it still happens and say thank you Shillen for that workaround via that page!

In addition I have one less Twitch drop avatar on my desktop PC thant my notebook for some reason. Perhaps related, perhaps a completely different topic. Will try that workaround once I am back at my desktop PC during the weekend.

just bought new desktop and sure enough no saves or avatar BUT my trophies are there... Odd.  Tried the steam cloud saves workaround but when I goto the cloud page, Steam says that I have NO cloud saves despite Humankind being the only game that I can't load a save from my laptop. So I am wondering if it's Steam's fault or Humankind? If it's Steam I'm screwed bc they take zero accountability when it comes to cloud saves.
