not able to continue to next turn because of game force surrender ?

I'm trying to continue to next turn so I can thoroughly defeat this opponent. before the war he was my vassal so I expected that I would be able to vassalize him again. but it seems I'm not able to cancel and continue the war. nor am I able to accept with terms I'm willing to agree to. Soo I guess the game is broken here as my only option is to save the game and quit the game.
if this is intentional mechanics I'm surely not going to spend a lot of time in the game, I want the option to continue the war until I'm ready to force a surrender not until the game arbitrarily decides that it has had enough of a beating leaving any of my goals unaccomplished. :) I hope you can figure out a way to fix this.
Sure I can take a few territories and make peace but that would mean I lose my vassal, the war was his war of freedom and considering he is offering to surrender he should still be my vassal afterwards... otherwise why would I accept the terms when I'm winning the war. ?

This is probably because the war score needed for become a vassal is 150 and you only have 116. I think you cannot choose anything that goes over that amount.

Yes but the problem is that the OP can not hit "cancel" out of this screen. They are forced to accept a peace treaty or the turn will not end, they are stuck on this screen and the only way to get off it is to "force surrender" . For some reason the game is forcing peace on the winner.

I've had this happen multiple times and its something I still don't understand. Why am I forced to accept a treaty when I don't want it.

this is exactly what I'm trying to describe. along with the fact I didn't even initiate the peace treaty I just wanted to continue the game to the next turn.
I think there should be a way to refuse a peace treaty offer without being forced to sign it at disadvantageous terms.

it shouldn't be so that the other part just automatically are forced to sign a treaty that didn't even get to a neutral status as before the war was initiated.

Happened to me as well.

Makes no sense to win a war against a rebelling vassal only to give them freedom because they "lost well enough."

Rebelling as a vassal should be a special type of war the vassal needs to win and demand its freedom in the victory screen, not be immediately granted on declaring war.

well why would I need a war score of 150 if the one I'm at war against is my vassal before he declared war of independence ? in this particular case the status quo is that he is my vassal. and if he doesn't win or try to ask for a peace treaty then the vassalization of him should be considered a war score worth of 0 as it is the status quo from before the independence war. and from there the loosing part should pay reparations for the damage done.

Another way is to give me the war score of 150 from the beginning and then just count up the more I win. this way I can still demand the vassalization at a peace treaty before completely beating the opponent. in this scenario it also prevents vassalization if I'm the loosing part because any score lost would result in the impossibility of vassalization because I'm loosing. either way. if I'm winning vasselization should be the status quo.. unless I'm winning so much I decide to change the status quo more in my favour.

Same for me. I tried reloading. Even starting a few turns earlier, to no effect. (I still love the game though! Hope you can fix this soon!)

Similar issue here. Wining a war and I am forced into a peace treaty that puts me worse than the staus quo. I'm forced to return all conquered territories and pay gold despite being on the winning side.

Looks like a bug
