Hi there, saved the game last night to continue this morning. It gets to the load screen but can't load the save file. Won't start a new game either. Just goes back to the menu.

Last night the game got stuck on the end turn button, which is why I stopped playing, but I can't load any saves from previous turns. 

I tried revalidating the files on Steam. Going to try a full re-install now.

The game last night had a lot of 'ghosted' pre-combat visuals, from where I might have moused over something while moving and the visual persisted from then onwards. They were not a major issue, but maybe they are linked to this larger problem. 

Ok, so a little more experimenting. 

After reinstalling the game and rebooting the computer, the game will start a new game ok, but if I try and load this save file it will fail. Trying to start a new game after loading this save file will also fail. So it appears it is the save file that's corrupted.

The game will also fail to exit cleanly and needed to be forced closed if you try and load this save file. 

You can start a new game once you've closed the game with task manager and restarted the game.
