Once the independant people began appearing I found that all of them had a unknown empire that had a full relationship bar with them. It was the Huns and towards the end of the classical era they assimilated two independant peoples on the same turn either side of one of my cities. They are on an as of yet undiscovered contenant, with no way to have contacted any empire or independant people I have found so far.
