Don't worry, Humankind developers, I bought the game. But holy cow. I've been playing a month now and still the game turns me into a raging, profanity-spewing, hate monster at least two or three times an hour. I've had to uninstall the game for my sanity.

What's the bug?

For Units, Ninety-Nine Percent of the Time: right-click means take action, left-click means cancel action

For Units, One Percent of the Time: right-click means cancel action, left-click means take action

For Everything Except Units:  right-click means cancel action, left-click means take action

At first I thought the undesired movement of units was my fault, but after several more hours of play I was able to uncover one of the most bizarre UI/UX decisions of the current century:

When you move units: right-click means move , left-click means don't move

When you claim a territory: right-click means don't claim, left-click means claim.

I've spent the last month playing and enjoying Humankind, but sadly I must move on. Once I uncovered this unexpected, unwanted, unwelcome, and unusable design decision, I tried everything to work around it. I set the auto-save to one turn so I could re-do a turn that was spoiled by the error. I despise save-scumming, but this isn't save scumming, it was fixing a design defect. This didn't work for me as I still had that insane surge of adrenaline-fueled, mind-blowing, baby-man temper tantrum, it's just I was then able to continue the game. I've tried to train myself to use the esc key to cancel actions, but that doesn't stick.

I know you won't change (fix) this issue, as you've trained ten thousand or a hundred thousand players to play the wrong way. So I took a deep breath, uninstalled one of my favorite of the past two years, and will bid you a fond farewell. Back to Crusader Kings III, perhaps. Possibly Cities Skylines. It may be time to finally tackle AGEOD's American Civil War II.
