Game freaking out on launch

I am running Victor on steam, launch the game, and I get a very erratic mouse, that is constantly trying to point at the bottom of the screen, which leaves me unable to actually click on any of the boxes in order to launch the game.  I have to end the task.  I also have some interesting "screeching" noise coming from somewhere within my pc case (do these things even have pc speaker anymore?  lol).  It is hard to describe, but its during the opening movie, and when the loading bar is actively working it stops, and when I move my erratic mouse it kind of intermittently makes the noise.  I've never heard my pc do anything like this, and even drew a funny look and query from my wife sitting across the room.  The normal sounds were coming from my headset as expected.

Not sure what is causing this, but I'm unable to do anything other that get to the login window.

I should probably add that I have a large amount of peripherals plugged in.  I have a HOTAS, button box, steering wheel/pedals, trackIR, and VR all plugged in.

Update - I've determined the game is reading my clutch pedal (lol) and pulling the cursor to the bottom of the screen like it's a slider.  Modulating the clutch, I can sort of click on things now, managed to get into the controls menu in the game, but I couldn't locate anything to turn it off.  I'm guessing you guys want to fix this, I dont feel like Humankind should be driven like a stickshift - until maybe the early modern era at least ;)

I'd suggest just disabling all other controls besides mouse and keybord as a default option, if people want to use crazy controllers they can set them up afterward.  I have Steam controls off btw.
