If you have participated in any of the OpenDev scenarios or the Closed Beta, retaining old files may cause unexpected behavior. Please delete your Humankind folder in \Users\[username]\Documents\Humankind\ before starting the game. Remember to log back in to your Games2Gether account in the game to access any additional avatars you have unlocked.

Deleting the Doc Folder seems to have fixed the issue for me. Thank you!

PC/Steam same error. Cleanup in \Users\[username]\Documents\Humankind\ seems to have resolved the issue.

I’m on Gamepass, I’ve deleted my humankind folder but the game crashes every time I load onto the map.. 

Same here on Steam. Played one full game, saved, and exit.When I try to launch the Game again, it crashes in the beginning fo the loading screen.

Deleted Humankind folder didn't help.

It started working again.

I've restarted Steam
and
I've turned my VPN off.

Not sure which one helped, but game loaded into main menu :)
