Please note, this is a KNOWN ISSUE, but I am looking for some kind of resolution so I can play the game. Note - this happens EVERY game (the save files I am providing are modded but this occurs unmodded as well and manifests in the same way)

  • Version: 1.0.21.3740-S10 (64-bit Standalone, build: 284208)
  • Description: Every game this occurs usually within the 90s or early 100s in terms of the # of turns. Notably the game creates endless diagnostic files in the temporary folder in the documents subdirectory for humankind. Each file is about 1.5 megabytes but it can easily make gigabytes of diagnostic files if you allow it to run.
  • auto-save 349.ctr
  • auto-save 350.ctr
  • Steps to Reproduce: 1. Just play the game...
  • Expected Behavior: It shouldn't lock up. Notably, when starting a new game after this occurs sometimes the mandatory actions option no longer functions regardless of toggle and you have to delete the temporary files folder for it to work again on subsequent playthroughs. Unsure if this is relevant.

This is the MISSING UIMAPPER bug. Every time you change your mod loadout you need to quit and restart Humankind. Its got that name 'cause it used to cause the message "MISSING UIMAPPER" to appear, but the devs have fixed the message problem yet it still causes other UI bugs such as making you miss mandatories. the main takeaway is: **EVERY TIME you want to change your mod loadout, quit and restart humankind.** Even if all you want is to play vanilla again, restart the game.

I was using Vanilla Improvement Project, Extended Naval Combat and the VIP & ENC compatibility mod.

Well that solves the mandatory actions options not triggering but it does not fix the issue with my turns pending infinitely which prevents me from playing the game.

Ok, then I need to explore this further. I am the modder for VIP and for the compatibility patch. I am almost 100% sure the bug is cause by one of the mods. Before we move on, can you make sure you're using the most updated versions of each mod? VIP was causing such bug in v4.03 and earlier, and that was fixed in version 4.04 (it is currently at 4.07) so please check it and update if needed. If VIP is on the latest version it may be a problem with either ENC or the compat patch, and we need to investigate further

EDIT: I found similar reports both in the ENC mod page and in the Compatibility patch mod Page. I'm quite sure it is a problem with either ENC or the Compat patch. I'm away from home (its Carnaval in Brazil) until later this week, so I cant investigate the compat patch until then, but I've already contacted the ENC modder for help looking into it.

E aí meu irmão. I wasn't able to make it back for Carnival this year but I have fond memories of it back before the Pandemic. Enjoy the block parties!

As for the mods I am using 4.07 VIP, 0.539 for ENCReload, and 2.12 for ENC & VIP Compatibility patch.
I am subscribed to them through mod.io so they should all theoretically be up to date. I appreciate you looking into it when you can.

Load order (in case that matters) is as follows:
ENCReload
VIP Modpack
ENC & VIP Compatibility

I am fairly certain I've tried it with swapping VIP & ENC load order with compatibility at the bottom as well.

Update Feb 22: There's something broken in ENC that is made worse by the compatibility patch. This bug is causing a turn pending issue and I joined forces with Freethinker to solve it. Until we can announce the bug is fixed we advice you to not play the mods combined (VIP alone is unbugged and playing ENC alone is fine as the new turn pending avoider can keep your game chugging along, but both together is too much for it to handle).

EDIT: New update: I think we found the culprit and Freethinker just uploaded a new patch for ENC that should fix it. Please update ENC to the latest version and it should work fine, but feel free to report if the problem persists.
