That might be working as intended, maybe not. However I think it has to do with the new trade route mechanic. Your traderoutes gives you vision around the traderoutes your trades passes, so does it for other empires passing the same trade route hub. The higher Merchant tag you get 1, 2, or 3, the further from the trade hub you get vision. Actually even in the past I often saw that some empires had shared these discoveries. I had even sometimes shared some discoveries with others. It could also be that both empires stepped into the vission range of a certain natural wonder. Remember the simultaneous turn thing in Humankind. Also as you said from shared vission with allies etc. I am not 100% certain if a bug, or working as intended.

In order for us to fully investigate this issue we need the following:

• Your last two auto-saves, and any other saves you think may help show the problem. Your saves are by default located:
  1. PC: \Users\[username]\Documents\Humankind\Save Files
  2. Mac: This is hidden in the Libraries folder. You will need to do an internet search to find specific steps for your OS. Once the libraries folder is revealed, they are in /library/ application support/humankind/Save Files
