Combat vote.

Keep it the same, i like how it is now.
I like it, but with a few alterations.
It should be changed!
Im going to wait for the devs to make a change.

The ability to alter battle based on environmental conditions and hero maneuvers would be awesome, in my opinion. I like the idea of ambushing an enemy fleet and causing some hectic carnage in a dense asteroid field.

Visuals and explosions are not the point for me.



I'd probably add some further variety in the cards, possibly linking some of these to hero level options, some of them to types of stars, and some of them random. I'd remove the time element entirely -- it is a turn based game.

I like the system as it is.



But I think the camera should be less jumpy. The ability to chance camera positions yourself would be nice as well.

First of all, I'd love to have more control over my fleets (right now, it's basically just "put the biggest guns in the fleet").



Possibility to add more ships to a fleet with the help of unarmed "Command Ships" (SotS style).

Possibility to arrange my ships (put low armored/shielded long range missile ships in the back row, the bulky armored stuff in the middle and the fast "skirmish" ships in the front.

Also would be nice to be able to gather intel on enemy ship builds (do they mainly use missiles/projectiles/lasers? Shields, armor, whatnot?), so we can react to those with counter-builds (they use shields, we use projectiles. They use lasers, we start using shields in our new ship iterations instead of the armor we had before).

A retreat card (see Retreat Card) would be a welcome addition, if balanced properly.



These changes, since right now (even with the cards) the game pretty much seems like build & pray.

I like the basic idea behind the combat system. I am against the Weapon/Armor RPS meta-game and would like to see something else implemented.

I like the new aproach to it, but the combat system needs more meat on the bones. Now its too much RPS and you affect it too little. I like the card approach though.

Personally I like it as is but it needs difference in the battles. The two fleets closing and then shooting time after time just doesn't do it for me.



I think fleet formation would be good but also cards like Evade (as mentioned above) and even RAM which could be good if you're obviously going to lose the battle.



Formations could mean smaller ships try to flank the other fleet or choose what range to attack. this would mean the fittings of the ships would be more meaningful.
