The 5th year of Mankinds conquest of the stars saw the arrival of the scoutship at an unremarkable system they nicknamed „Dyl“ but more importantly another communique of the Academy:





With the help of the data that was sent to them by the crew of the scoutships the Techseers of the Academy were actually able to find a way to sustain human life on low temperature planets. The next project of the Academy would shift the focus away from how to sustain live in harsh environments to the field of how to make the Academy itself more efficient.



Another year later, 3007 the researchers at the Academy found out how to isolate small areas from the effect of quantum forces and could so set up a better research environment for their next goal:





And in the same year Administrator Hilera Zatonyhu could prove that he made considerable progress in establishing the new farming techniques on Terra II and because of the huge success of the experiment was planning to bring the same techniques to Terra. He also set up an efficient transport system between the colony and the homeworld which earned him the praise of the throne.





Meanwhile the Scoutship set course to the blue sun, in hope to finally find a System that was worth the blessing that is human colonization. The crew grew anxious in the last few month, so many lightyears traveled, so many failures. There wasn't a single planet that was colonizable. In about 13 month they would know.

LOL at this but Endless Space reminds me more the good old days of Descent Freespace 2. Especially the GTVA briefings where they give an update of which systems have been taken by the Shivan (Craven lol) armada and which systems have been reclaimed by the GTVA (Empire+Sophons LOLZ)

13 month later the crew of the scoutship reached the destination they named „Kuat“.

The bridge of the ship was busting with eagerness and anxiety.



„Captain! Captain! I think we finally got something!“

Captain Janson acted as he didn't hear it, on a scoutship of the Imperium information wasn't shouted all across the bridge, there was protocol and he would see to it that his bridge crew would follow it.

He heared the sensorofficer hurry across the deck.

„Sir?“

„Yes lieutenant?“

„Sensors report terran-like conditions on the object we nicknamed Kuat IV.“

„Live signs?“

„Nothing except plants and lower forms of animals.“

„Anything else?“

„Yes, all of the planets have some anomalies that need further investigation and there seems to be another wormhole.“

„Very well, jump to it.“

Janson couldn't keep himself from smiling. Finally they had something positve for their transmissions to send back home, he would instruct communications to send the report back immediatly.







Meanwhile on Terra Administrator Hilera Zatonyhu finished his final reports about the new farming techniques implemented on Terra II. During the procject he gained some valuable insights about managing production.







Due to the experiences he made on Terra II Administrator Zatonyhu could implement the new farms only a year later on Terra. He now proclaimed the need to set up another outpost on Terra V to get a step closer of fullfilling the Emperors promise to reunite all of Mankind. The plan was to use Terra V as a testobject, if human colonies could survive in cold environments and maybe reunite with their lost brothers on the iceplanet that was Terra III.

His suggestion met the approval of the Imperial Office and so efforts began to refit short range transports to colony ships equipped with everything necessary for a colony to survive in the harsh environment of Terra V.







Zatonyhu also recognized very quickly that the productive capabilities of the Empire just weren't adequate for the upcoming tasks so he wrote a request to the Throne to change research to a more practical field to help his efforts. The Throne concurred and the Academy was instructed to focus it's efforts on ways how to increase productivity of the Empire.

This better end properly (Cravers killing everybody, Hissho conquering everything and setting a Galactic Empire...) and not with another Hollywood-style happy ending

The Emperor was pleased. The development of the Empire was speeding up since they took their first step to the stars. The new data that was sent home by the scoutship helped research greatly and everywhere in the Empire there was the drive to accomplish great deeds.



In 3011 the Academy suggested the method of Core mining to increase productivity of the Empire.

During the testruns for the project researchers found a new element burried deeply in the crust of Terra II. It was highly durable and the Techseers named it Titanium-70.

The Emperor ordered to test the new means of getting raw materials first on the newly setup colony on Terra V.









Administrator Zatonyhu decided to watch over the project personally and while doing so he learned a lot about setting up highly productive operations.







3012 the new production facility was finished and seeing the population boom that was happening in the Empire he shifted his focus back to food production. He proposed to not only use the new farming method, that the Academy discovered some years ago, but to reorganize farming all over the sector according to those findings.







After 2 years the reorganization was finished and the Academy proclaimed that its research budget was to low to keep up with the high standards that where demanded by the Throne.

Therefore Zatonyhu received order of the Imperial Office to set up partnerships between private investors and the Imperial Academy.

@Raptor: I will do my best to win this and hope the AI will give me a good fight. (^^,)

I only played to turn 50 so far and no real fights.. only small skirmishes.

The promise I can give you though is: There will be no peace with Xenos. As long as one enemy of the Emperor still draws breath there can be no peace!

But the only fitting ending for this is the complete and utter domination of the Galaxy by the Imperium of Man (though only after a long and bloody struggle..)
