Will the game run on XP sp2? Yes I noticed the game says XP 3 minimum, however many other games I've played run just fine on SP2, (including Diablo III) so figured I'd ask.

Hey there

This might sound like a noobish question (and I'm quite positive that it is), but I preordered the game, downloaded it and clicked the "play" button. First cinematic with Amplitude? Check. Second cinematic? Check. Welcome screen? Check.... but there's no menu. Will it be somehow triggered on after the official release?

Kind regards

Then I must've messed something up (or, more likely, Steam messed things up). Any pointers?

Verify the game cache? If you have two monitors is it possible the new game dialog is in an unexpected location? It may be worthwhile to look at the threads in tech support, which describe ways your firewall software can interfere with the game.

There is a FAQ sticky in this forum:

Question: What platform is the game going to be released on?

Answer: PC and Mac.

I looked around online and viewed some youtube videos but i am still not sure how this game is played.

I only just saw it on steam tonight.

It seems it is like sins of a solar empire and age of wonders.

The videos i saw were turn base and had no combat.

1) What elements are there from sins of a solar empire and age of wonders?

2) is there an option to change from turn base to real time?

3) what is multiplayer like? direct ip, lan or steam support?

4) Anything you could add to help me decide to purchase this game or not? (videos, links, etc)

Thanks in advance.

1. Don't know, not familiar with those games. But it is a lot like MOO2 and other 4X space games. 2. Interesting question. The game is simultaneous turn based. So it has elements of realtime, and elements of turnbased. 3. You need steam to access the game at all, and MP is steam based. 4. Well, if you like other mostly-turn-based 4X space games but you haven't liked any of the recent ones, you will like this one.

Yeah is the official release suppose to be free for the original beta testers? I have the alpha/beta key and it updates and plays the release version just fine.

How do you find out how long a ship will take to reach it's destination? So far I figured out the big blue circles is where it will land on its next turn, but is there an actual number where it tells you? Would hate to have to count all the blue dots to find out how long it would take.

A simple number tooltip has been suggested. If you look carefully at the blue dots, you will see most of them are small but some are large. The large ones are where you will be at the end of each turn. So if you count the big blue dots only, you can see how many turns.

Hello,

1. Is there any plan to release DRM free (steam free) version of Endless Space? I can sacrifice multiplayer and social features to get rid of steam. (Not clear answers i consider as No.)

2. Do you consider adding to game fabular missions (based on for ex. simple dialog boxes with illustrations/or animations) like main story from Reunion? As DLC or patch. If Yes can we expect mission editor with it?

Thanks

If there's a max turn limit I haven't found it - only been up to about turn 350 though.

So I just spent $30 and bought the Admiral Edition of ES. Part of the package says I get 500 G2G Points. How do I go about redeeming those points so they can be loaded onto my Amplitude Account?

From the ES FAQ

Question: How can I redeem my steam code in order to get the extra G2G points from my pre-order?

Answer: Login to the official site (not the forums!), click on your name in the upper right corner and type/paste your steam code in the "Redeem G2G Code" field, then click the "Redeem" button.

I think September is the date for the boxed version.

That can only the designers answer. I didn't read about it so far. But you can propose it in the GAMES2GETHER sub-forum and if it gets enough feedback may be it will be implemented.
