I have a question ( i did not find the answer in the FAQ or using the forum search engine ).

Do i need a permanent internet connection to play ES ?

Not permanent - On Steam, you have to log into your account at least once (to download the game) and then you can switch to offline mode (in your settings). You will be able to play without an internet connection, but only the single player AND without the updates we may release while you are offline. Also, you will not be able to play the multiplayer obviously, as this mode requires an internet connection.

It will be as we are working on the Mac version at the moment.

Like all Steam games, you must be online in order to both launch Steam and launch the game itself.

Edit: To be fair, I've not checked to see if offline mode actually worked in the last week. It never has before - even in offline mode, you need to log into steam for it to work.

Edit 2: Well I'll be. They finally have it working.

Is there a way to look at all activated and deactivated winning conditions in a running game?

I have a problem of not being able to get my "Colonizers" to move. I click on them and then click on a solar system, and they do nothing. It works for like 35 turns but then just stops working.

What's wrong?

We'll need more information than that. Are they in an opponent's territory? Do you have to go through enemy territory to reach the planets? If you could please post a save game, that would help us determine if it's a bug or PEBKAC.

I'm sorry for the lack of information.

My "Colonizers" were in my home territory, on my "Home" planet. I made a fleet and gave them normal orders to move. The "dotted-path" showed like they were to move, but they did not.

I exited the game, returned to a loaded game, and they started to move. The issue was fixed. This happened on 2 different games. (I've only played 2).

I appears to be a bug, and if it happens again I'll try to get a save game, but reloading the game seems to fix it.

Thanks for the help anyway.

The same thing continues to happen. I started a new game, and on my first turn, my ships refuse to move. I have a save game, but I don't know how to post it to the forum.

I've restarted the game and it still happens.

This was discussed during the daily scrum this morning: Steamworks is causing us some trouble for now. So, no exact date, sorry. smiley: fat

I hate quoting myself but:

Will saved games in the mac version be compatible with the windows version? If I could set both to save their games in my Dropbox and then have my Endless Space everywhere, whether on my desktop PC or my macbook, I would be a very happy boy.

No, there isn't, just like you cannot edit the type of victory in a running game.

For the Horatio race, the game says: "Main victory type: Population/wonder". For the Hissho race it says "Main victory type: Military/population". I'm wondering what kind of victory condition "population" refers to? Is there a direct way to win by having the most populated empire? Or is this just saying that a good way to win with Horatio is to focus on population growth, and thereby get economic/scientific/expansion victory?

How do you increase G2G points? It's not just from posting or medals. I've seen people with <10 posts and 2 or 3 forum medals (from pre-order and time registered) who have around 2000 G2G points.
