What if this person is cussing and shouting in the chat while you play?

It's not about being a man. It's about wanting to enjoy your game without someone throwing a fit at you.

And how about this situation? What if you have one person who's joined your game multiple times, and every single time they've left as soon as the game started? And they return every time you kick them?

I addressed this is my posts above. Either have an ignore feature in lobbies or man up.

As for match behavior, people exit games at the start for a variety of reasons. Are you saying you'd ban someone because they have trouble connecting and need to reverify files or some other issue? Sometimes a host starts before they were ready because they were doing something with their race. I wouldn't spite anyone for having technical difficulties, even if they happen more often than other people.

There's also the present issue with extreme variability in map quality causing not only myself but a number of others to drop out of games if the starting constellation is insane. Contrary to the lifestyle choices of a number of ES players who have expressed satisfaction with insane map inequities, others of us actually have lives worth living and spending time doing enjoyable things besides not enjoying the game you're playing because...uh...you might offend the host of the game if you quit because your situation is hopeless and you'd rather play a game that's fun instead of a nightmare?

Yeah...democracy please. We can all do without idiotic despotism.

@fenrakk:How many peoples does this?1% from the 20 Multiplayers that you found in the public lobby.A bannoption only for this?you will see, if a bann is possibel, you split the small community on the regional servers.then you can bann player they are better as you. the people join normally in the server with the most players. They are dont be interested about any differences between 2 others.

You can do the same thing by constantly kicking players who are better than you, and they will eventually give up. A troll, or any person trying to be a pain, is going to keep coming on no matter how much you kick them. So, do you want to remove the kick feature too? Or are you going to keep trying to convince me that one person using the ban feature is going to make multiplayer impossible for everyone else?

Lol, so you're actually ADVOCATING banning someone based on their skill level? I see you've got your priorities straight...

That does raise a point though, about overpowering skill. There should be "experience points" that log how many games you've played, your cumulative score, etc. and THEN have the ability to make games based on skill brackets.

However, this only works in games that actually have a functioning MP community, and right now ES multi-player is more like a depressing meetup group.

Then suggest an ignore feature. I'm not going to "man up" and deal with harassment in a videogame. This a casual 4X game, not Call of Duty Hardcore. I'm not playing this game to enjoy verbally abusing my fellow players.

I'm not saying they have to be malicious. But if someone is running around with a horrible connection and gets disconnected every time a game starts, then I probably won't want that person in my game. It's not his fault, but it's not mine either.

Then play Singleplayer, play with friends, or play games with Young galaxies, you have other options than dropping out of games early on and ruining the experience for others just because it was ruined for you. Where's your "man up" garbage now, huh?

I say again: How much would a ban feature REALLY change? If players abuse it, no one can play with them anyway. You fail to describe a plausible scenario where a ban feature would ruin the enjoyment for the online community.

I'm not advocating, and your inability to figure that out is appalling. My point was that he was saying "You can ban players based on their skill!" My point was that you can already accomplish the same thing, so how will a ban feature actually make matters worse?

As for the rest of your post, I do agree with it. I like cumulative experience stats in games, but ES doesn't have enough of a thriving community to facilitate that.

Meh, sorry man, you've obviously got a bone to pick with someone or a personal vendetta. I'm just talking about how successful multiplayer communities handle this. The only thing that interests me is fair justification and community involvement. I'm really sorry if someone hurt you right in your feels and didn't apologize kindly.

May I offer you a juice box and an oreo?

Ah I see. I thought you were saying "Hey you can already annoy the hell out of better players already, so why not just make it official?"

And I'm glad you understand that ES doesn't have a thriving community. This is why ban lists are a horrible idea for everyone.

What about an automatic spam/insult filter? (No censorship, but a little bit of control) - Might prevent the insults (with infraction points maybe?)

Automatic restriction for joining the game XX times in a Minute ?

Would affect both Steam-Players and non-Steam-Players, if implented ingame
