(Gamepass) DLC showing 'not owned' in-game

Hoping to get some assistance with this issue I'm having:


Installed the bolivar update this morning and purchased the new DLC, fired up the game and now both cultures of africa (have owned since release) and cultures of latin america are displaying 'not owned' status which is negating the ability to activate them both via the toggle switch. Has anybody encountered this issue?


Have tried disconnecting/reconnecting G2G account, restarted gamepass and PC - both DLCs are showing as owned on the Gamepass app and in the Windows store.

Hi all!


Could you please try the "verify and repair" option in the xbox application? (click on the 3 dots button next to the game - Manage - Files - Verify and Repair).

We think it should fix the issue.

Hi i have got mine on xbox game pass and bought the 2 DLCs. Have reinstalled and verified and repaired it twice. Does not fix issue


Verified and reapaired now both DLCs dont work

I can also confirm that I'm having the same issue, bought the DLC through gamepass this morning, and it's saying I don't own the content. I verified the game files, even uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, but it still says I don't own it.

edit: it's been fixed and now I don't have any issues.

I've also been having this issue ever since purchasing the Africa and Deluxe DLC, but before the Bolivar update, I'd always been able to clear it up by restarting the game 5-10 times.  Since the Bolivar update, however, it recognizes the Africa DLC, but not the Deluxe DLC, so I can't even continue the game that I had previously saved (from when I successfully got the game to recognize all of my purchased DLC).  Verify and repair has no effect.  I'd like to try out the new Latin DLC, but am reluctant to purchase it until I know I can use it with Gamepass.

Sratch that, issue has re-appeared today with the latin america pack - can't continue my save file due to the content 'missing'

I'm having the same issue. I bought Cultures of Latin America and Cultures of Africa from the Gamepass Store and only Cultures of Africa shows up as available.


Edit: neither reinstalling or verify and repair seem to fix the issue.

Edit2: for whatever reason, restarting my PC seems to have fixed the issue.

Just don't shut the game down! Chances are the next time you start it back up, the Latin Pack will once again be "unowned".

I just bought Latin American DLC. I'm very disappointed that none of these solutions work. I really could use some assistance. I bought it from the box game pass app.

I'm also having this issue with the Latin America DLC using gamepass. Xbox App tells me that it is installed and ready to use in game, but when opened it only shows the Africa DLC as playable. Also used to have the Deluxe upgrade bundle too and that is also showing the same, installed on Xbox App but not available in game.


Edit to add: After just trying again after hoping that sleep would solve the issue, I'm now no longer able to even play with the Africa DLC. To clarify all DLCs are showing as owned in Xbox app, and MS Store, but in game I am unable to enable them.

I have purchased the DLC on Steam. Restarting the computer, unplugging the profile or verifying integrity does not work. UPDATE: I installed the latest public version of the game. Before that I had the beta version of the new update. DLC works in the latest version of the public update.

Same issue also occurring for me using Xbox Game Pass.

Africa DLC is playable but Latin America DLC is inactive ~90% of the time. Xbox App and the store also say dlc is installed and ready. Verifying/Repairing/Reinstalling have been tried and nothing has consistently worked.

Edit: Now even Africa dlc isn't working

Edit 2: Checked again as of 6/16/2022 and the Africa DLC works again but not the Latin America DLC

Edit 3: Game worked with dlc yesterday but the Latin America DLC vanished again today (6/19/2022)

Edit 4: 6/19/2022 GMT+9 1:52PM Left PC running for a while and... it works again? I think I'm going to keep a log of when it dies and when it works from now on

Having the same issue. I originally purchased the Deluxe edition - but then installed the gamepass version as well to play with friends. No matter what I click in the Xbox app to run "the collection", the gamepass version launches and only gives me access to Cultures of Africa (Deluxe and Latin are listed unowned and greyed out).


The weird thing is it seems to be sporadic and I'v been able to start games with all 3 and then come back the next day and unable to continue save due to the extra content turning off.

I'm also having the same issue; I've even brought the game so it's not on the gamepass and it still didn't fix the issue.

It seems to be a weird it's there but isn't, as it gives me the option to buy the Deluxe edition (it loads up the Microsoft store when clicked) but not the two culture packs I own.


Edit:
Generally, I get the Cultures of Africa pack working just not Latin America Pack

So far have:

  • Re-installed
  • Restarted multiple times
  • relogged Xbox app and Microsoft store
  • Verify and repair via xbox app
  • Repaired and reset via Apps & features
  • deleted Humankind folder in My Documents
  • contacted "Xbox Gamers" support
  • Set both gamelanuchhelper.exe and humandkinda.exe to run as admin (and repeated above steps, individually and together)
  • shut OneDrive (aka running out of ideas)

Do you have an idea what is causing the game to get stuck on the loading screen by any chance just got it on game pass yesterday and when I try loading into a game loading gets like halfway and gets stuck there.

Hi everyone.


We've been able to identify precisely what was causing the bug, and we are in the process of fixing it. We still have to test our fix properly and send it to certification to Microsoft. We expect to release a new version of the game early next week with the fix.


Please note that the hotfix patch releasing today does not solve the issue.

we'll need a fwe files from you to try figure out why it gets stuck. Could you check your Documents/Humankind folder and send us:

  • Diagnostic files (needs to be compressed as a zip or rar file or the upload will fail), found in PC:\Users\[username]\Documents\Humankind\Temporary Files 
  • Player.Log, found in: Users\[username]\AppData\LocalLow\AMPLITUDE Studios\Humankind This folder is hidden by default. You will need to reveal hidden folders (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files-0320fe58-0117-fd59-6851-9b7f9840fdb2 )
  • If you are trying to load a save, the save file as well.


Ideally, make a new thread to report this, to help us keep the different bug reports properly organized.

I'm still not seeing Great Zimbabwe or the Amplified 2022 content, but at least all the purchased DLC is now showing up reliably.

This issue has resurfaced in the Battuta update.  Did someone forget to cherry-pick a fix? :-D

This problem happened to me with the latest Oceania DLC. I have all the previous DLC and now I can only play with the latest one.
