True, that would've settled a few things, and would've encouraged people to actually review before voting. But hey, sometimes you have to work with the hand you're dealt, sometimes you have to roll the hard six, sometimes you have to spin the chamber and pull the trigger, and other idioms like that. smiley: stickouttongue

Eh, we should stop complaining since we sound like sore losers smiley: smile True, the poll could have been handled better, but what is done is done. And while it is true that ideas after middle have gotten very little votes, the ones who do have actually gotten notably votes are pretty good ideas. So congrats to whoever wins!

I just hope that we get a good mix of winners.

Ideally the person who wins will never have won anything before, just so that a larger number of people will have had the joy of having an idea in a game smiley: smile

And I really need to sit down and write that npc for The Mandate. Have been putting that off.

don't look at your own vote counts people, you'll just drive yourself mad.

Of course the only reason I'm not obsessively checking mine is I haven't voted yet

Smart words, don't take it personally guys if your faction isn't getting votes. People just can't handle your creative energy.

AKK! don't tell me how many votes I have!

And now that you have told me don't tell me how many anyone else has, because that would put how many votes I have in context!

I like the idea, they sound like a lot of fun, especially the looting mechanic. And they got one of my votes smiley: cool

I feel left out. I can't say things like "I voted for you too! smiley: biggrin" or "Yeah, your faction is awesome, got one of my votes" smiley: cry

I need to finish reading those entries fast. I want to get it over with and vote. And stop being tempted to advertise Mesaima

I got some votes yey ^^

Everyone vote for 5 smiley: wink

TBH There is so many good choices. Maybe devs will take pity and allow 2 G2G vote factions that ultimately not make it to become minor factions.

Currently the "three" most popular factions are

1. Cultists of the Eternal End: Religious, one holy city, minor faction-indoctrination, holy warfare - Nosferatiel

2. MESAIMA: Parasitic, minor faction infestation, low FIDSI, infested units sicken, minor faction dependent bonuses - PANCZASU

3. CIEVERS: Fishfolk, diplomatic, scientific, waterbound, cities on water tiles - Ottopoika

3. The Elders: Demonic, slavery, minor faction sacrifice, village upgrades - EisenKreutzer

So I have a question: the devs let every proposal available in the poll, even those that broke the rules, and even those that are in contradiction with the game design choices. I mean: the Cievers have water cities, and there is absolutely no water gameplay in EL, and nothing seems to be planned to change that (apart from the possibility for the flyers to fly over the water). Is every faction we see here susceptible to be chosen as the new faction in game? What happen if the community choose a faction that don't fit with the rest of the game?

(also, I would like to say that I'm happy there is at least one original and creative faction in the top 3. Having read all the faction descriptions, I feared the winners would be only generic factions we can see in every space opera or fantasy game.)

Except for keeping the vote count secret and hope that people later trusts the results, nothing would satisfy everybody. People should let their egos on vacation and focus on the hopes of getting the most awesome faction possible from all this, no matter which one is.

As far as I have seen, there are some "high score" ones up, middle and bottom. We should also consider that placement may not have anything to do with the votes. At least not for every single person that votes. We may as well complain that some people may vote only based on the keywords, huh?

Anyone who has more than 0 votes, should shut up and enjoy the trip. smiley: stickouttongue And take the chance to think about who may win and think some possible stuff for Quest 2. smiley: smile

Thats why I'm actually confused about why they didn't filter out results before hands <_< Does that mean they will implement factions anyway or that they will radically change them to the point they don't even look the same as before in which case what is the point? And if they just ignore the faction and check next one in voting, then it means poll is inaccurate since people were allowed to vote for a faction that wasn't going to get picked anyway.

There were a lot of entries and my guess is that the devs simply didn't have time to read them all. I assume that if a faction that breaks the rules and/or is too difficult to implement makes it to G2G vote and then wins, the devs will simply talk to the faction's creator to try and fix those issues.

Yeah, but in that scenario the faction wouldn't be what people voted for or what creator originally created, it'd be devs' creation coated with paint provided by the creator.
