Nos already has 10 votes? Your idea was good, but not *that* good.

That's up to debate and moste people will take a LOT of time reading through everything. I expect a major surge of votes at the end of the period. Putting any emphasis on preliminary vote counts of a few instant/fast voters (please take no offense at that, you may just be awesomely fast at choosing what you like smiley: wink ), is not really warranted. The numbers will change.

I'll vote for all factions I deem to be well-considered (not game-breaking, interesting and doable) and that have lore that fits, in my opinion, into the world. I won't actually count how many those are, until I've made up my mind about that. There's been so many people changing their faction and tuning it... it'll take lots of time to go through all of them a second time.

I agree with adder, here.

The method is flawed for the stated purpose and I'll remind you, Panczasu, he's a mod, too. smiley: stickouttongue

Well, the only proposals that matter are the three for G2G. Those three must be EL material. If they have to dismiss any winner of this poll because of "These are not the factions we were looking for" and because the G2G vote must produce a faction that can actually be implemented, I'm sure they will do it (and maybe crush some dreams in the process).

Not that I'd not love a game with overland map, underland map, underwater map, aerial map...

Hmm, I wonder if I'm so anxious(considering I participated for fun, I didn't really expect to have this much stress about it) about this because I'm dreaming of becoming a game designer one day and I'm frustrated at how bad I am at selling my ideas or because I spent two full days on planning out my idea... No seriously, I spent time on it from morning to night <_< I'm really reaaally slow when it comes to doing stuff..

Currently the "three" most popular factions are

3. CIEVERS: Fishfolk, diplomatic, scientific, waterbound, cities on water tiles - Ottopoika

3. The Elders: Demonic, slavery, minor faction sacrifice, village upgrades - EisenKreutzer

So I have a question: the devs let every proposal available in the poll, even those that broke the rules, and even those that are in contradiction with the game design choices. I mean: the Cievers have water cities, and there is absolutely no water gameplay in EL, and nothing seems to be planned to change that (apart from the possibility for the flyers to fly over the water). Is every faction we see here susceptible to be chosen as the new faction in game? What happen if the community choose a faction that don't fit with the rest of the game?

(also, I would like to say that I'm happy there is at least one original and creative faction in the top 3. Having read all the faction descriptions, I feared the winners would be only generic factions we can see in every space opera or fantasy game.)

I take that you mean my faction, as it has been bolded (hope I'm not wrong :l). And just to say it again, since it hasn't been edited in the description, Cievers have cities that are built on land, and can expand to water tiles smiley: wink

So their cities can build districts into water tiles? Huh cool

Holy hell, ten votes? I expected the Federation to get like, three.

Thanks to all who voted for them, even if it seems their dreams of Aurigan World Peace may never come true...

I kinda wish that tomorrow would be 14th day so that poll would be over and we'd know results already instead of being wondering about it for a week xD

I will never participate in something like this ever again. It's set up unfairly and favors those at the too and bottom of the list and those that have moderator powers here.

You can take my faction off the list.

I have to admit, I was hoping for a bit more of a run off style - expecting everyone to pick 10 of 99? That is quite a bit of reading!

Also, I kind of expected them to go through the list and weed out some that were infeasible for various reasons...

Overall, looks like its working out okay though.

Obligatory vote for 94!

Okay, now you are just being unfair, nobody is getting voted because they are a moderator :/

Yeah, I think a runoff system would have made a lot more sense. Maybe they could still do this; instead of taking just the top 3 from this poll and using them, they could take the top HALF of the submissions, then do another poll and take half, THEN take the top 3 of a third, final poll.

I don't give a hoot who the author is - Mod or not.

As Nos has said my votes will go to those that I feel make the game better, that the AI can play, that offer something other than what appears planned and can be understood by the player. Then I'll read the storyline to see if it fits EL, ES, DotE.

After that I'll vote. It'll be tough narrowing it down, but the criteria I placed up here will be what makes my mind up. Hell - I've not even plugged mine smiley: smile

Mods...

Is there any way to see the vote without casting it? Not that I'm going to look (I don't think I could stand the pain) but just wondered.

Oh, another question: Is there any way to differentiate between people who create more than one account to vote for their submission and people who are unique individuals but have registered in order to vote? Obviously I'm really new here and don't have any friends on the forum, so I've been encouraging non-forumite friends to register and vote. Are these votes going to be counted?

...I see a lot of flaws in this system. smiley: alder
