Turn 5

We have discovered a new system called Heracles. As it stands it is entirely unihabitable, but we will see how our research resolves this situation. It does appear to be an easily defensible position however, controlling it would limit access to Isso, Tylus and Cheng. Definitely something to take into account.

Thankfully, two of the planet types are something we're already researching in to. This makes Heracles a top priority as soon as the research is ready.

The Scout Corvette returns to Cheng, next year it will set out along the last unexplored route that connects itself to Atlas. Finally we will have a good view of our standing in the local system.

Thanks for taking the time to do this.

Looking forward to seeing how this works out.

You're welcome. In all fairness I find it more fun to play it this slowly. Usually it's "End turn, few clicks, end turn." :P

Turn 4

Eureka! The technology is done and now our planets will upgrade their methods to the new style. Next up is the Xenology project.

We decide it is time to bring our new colony world under an administrator in order to improve it's growth. Uthman Fahedhm seems to have the best credentials so we bring him aboard.

He should be able to boost the production on Cheng IV as soon as the population starts to rise. It'll be good experience for him for when we need him to establish and run colonies later on.

Finally, our Scout Corvette has departed to the next system on the node-line. Hopefully next year we will find out more about our surrounding star systems.

@fellidan who cares for ressources you have a nearly perfect production system delivered for free (^^,) (well it would be better if all were jungle but ... hey whats perfect?)

Seeing you AAR I'm trying to set up something similar with my UE game.. but as I'm writing down the turns I've played so far I recognized that I should've taken a _LOT_ more screenshots... it's so easy to forget that while playing.

There is a limit per post for screenshots. It's about 4 per post, so I aim for 4 screenshots every turn. Slow turns make it hard, but I think fast paced ones will be worse when the battles happen. I may need a seperate post just for battles :P

I saw your AAR earlier and I look forward to following it. It's nice that you're taken a more involved-story approach.

Turn 3

The Scout Corvette has finally arrived at the Isso system. It is much smaller than those found before, but it is bigger than our home system at least.

From first looks this could be a great place to set up our next colony. There is a medium sized jungle type planet which would be a good starting off point for a new colony, then once we have developed the technology we could turn the tundra type planet into a forge world.

Production on our homeworld and new colony on Cheng is progressing along smoothly, it will be a few years until they are finished but a step forward is all we need. Our research project is almost ready as well, we are just going into the final phases of testing. So far we are doing well.

Nice.. very nice.. I always love AARs

I think we need another subforum.. smiley: wink

edit: I recognized you don't rush the 22 money for the administrator or nonbaryonic particles for the magnetic shield generators.. any reason for that? (in my opinion its one of the strong suits of the sophons)?

Turn 2

We have established our new colony on Cheng IV, it may be a slow start here so we begin to construct new farming stations in order to speed up development of the population.

Our Scout Corvette travels along the next node-line and arrives at the Tylus sytem. This is much more inhospitable than Cheng.

There is one jungle type planet for us to colonize, but the other planets leave a lot to be desired, we will flag it as a potential target for future endeavours.

The Scout Corvette sets off for the next system, but it's engine power will not make it arrive until next year. For now we will continue our research, hopefully in two years our Soil Xenobiology project will be ready.

Our ship designs may be basic right now, but they are solid. We are able to travel the stars, and we must do so quickly.

We followed the first node-lane we came across, it led us to the Cheng System, it looks to be heavily populated with planets.

There are several planets we cannot yet use, though there is a Terran type planet and a Jungle type planet. The terran planet is an attractive base for a new colony, though it is plagued with permanent monsoons. The jungle planet may be smaller in size, but it should be a modest beginning in this system.

Our first Progenitor ship is on-route, but it has a slower engine and will not arrive just yet. Hopefully in a year we will have a new colony established and will begin construction.

Initial research

So it begins, we decided to develop our soil xenobiology first to improve our food production methods. Space will not be kind and we must develop our own means to grow. After that we will progress into Xenology to prepare ourselves to contact other races and hopefully improve our economical situation. Finally, it is important for us to prepare to colonise worlds unlike our own, we must be ready to adapt environments to suit our needs.

On Atlas I we begin to cultivate the lands in order to grow our population quickly, it is imperative that we have people ready to take to the skies in our colony ships. The Seekers must depart soon.

When I used to do this, I used to blog it rather than thread it because it seemed easier.

I'm liking this one so far, but I think we do need to do a multiplayer one, that would be hilarious! smiley: biggrin

Turn 16

The new Progenitor colony ship has been built, we are launching it into space right away.

It will take a few years for the colony vessel to reach Izar I, but this is a great leap forward for the Collective. Securing this source of Hyperium will give us a good position for further expansion.

Turn 14

The new proposals have catapulted Cheng V's colonisation progress ahead by a year. Hopefully we will have the new colony bases up and running next year.

End Turn 14

Turn 15

The new colony on Cheng V is operational, as a result we are focusing our efforts on building the Heavy Isotope Refineries and then we shall begin work on establishing Cheng V as a forge world.

Turn 13

Uthman Fahedhm approached the Collective Council to share the innovations he has come across during his work as the administrator of Cheng IV.

He has come up with new proposals and reforms which should help streamline our agriculture industries while bringing new leadership to the infrastructure department. We look forward to see how these changes pan out.

Turn 12

Our scientists used technology developed from our colonisation efforts to create a new form of energy plants, they also identified a new resource that would be beneficial for future projects known as Hyperium.

Our modified sensors have immediately located a cache of Hyperium on the nearby system of Izar, this must be our first target once the new colony ship is ready.

We have also commissioned new Heavy Isotope Refinery projects on Atlas I and Cheng IV and V to improve our infrastructure.
