How does damage apply?
Example:
-Ship A has all beam weapons and deals 100 damage.
-Ship B has a 50/50 shield/hull modules and has 1000 hp with X% projectile and y% energy damage reduction.
-They fight on middle range.
Does that 100 damage first damage shield? Is it first reduced by shield and when hitting plate reduced by it?
Can anyone explain how damage is applied, would be really grateful.

As far as I could say, the AI should auto-build every kind of system development. But with my tests, I failed to make those AI-marked system work at all. And with Unfallen, and so many systems, the last game was a little painful, to manually set up every new system (and vineships are pretty fast at taking systems in endgame).

But, since we are here, we could go a little deeper.

- How does AI works with strategic-costing system improvements? Does it just build everything, thus making you spending resources you could have just little numbers of?

- How does AI works with dust and science infinite system production (25 and 50% industry usage)

- Will ever AI try to build Wonders?

- Will ever AI try to build ships?

- Why I cannot properly set up AI on my systems?

How can I get rid of unwanted population? 6 years ago

Hi,

Just after playing ES2 a bit, during EA, I discovered that sometimes you want to get rid of unwanted population. Examples are Cravers that are depleting you planets or people that appears is not Horatio and makes your system ugly.

For sure there's people who will be glad to receive some help in ways of "accompanying these people out of your systems".

The title pretty much says it all, were the Vaulters and Sisters of Mercy, the only two factions to surive the events of Auriga that we know of? I ask this as it is clear no one remains on Auriga as when we find it in the galaxy, its a barren, sterrile Ice planet. Let me know what you guys think. :)

I touch starsystem of quest-rewards in Celestial World DLC  because it seems so lack in my think.

I was wondering  specific Luxuries can be added in that rewards starsystem, they are mercurite, endless foundries, meta-entactogen, gossamer.

How can i put that in rewards?

Auto-ship repair: condition & rate of repair 6 years ago

Q1) What is the condition of getting my ships automatically repaired by turn without using Dust or Hero Skills?

Q2) How much proportion of HP will be regenerated by turn?

Someone says your ships will only be repaired by 10%/turn in your system with 100% ownership. Some others say your ships will be repaired if that fleet is inside the circle of influence of friendly system. Another person says that you should put your ships in hangar in order to get auto-repair. What should I do?

I love playing the vodyani, I think its extremely fun to steal population and have ships that are your means of colonising, but it feels like no matter how hard I try to vary my gameplay, doing things in different orders like focusing colonising lots or making lots of leeches early on and such, I always fall behind. I don't think its just me either, I've heard similar complaints from friends of mine. We all like the Vodyani for thier unique playstyle, but it just feels like they are always on the backfoot, falling behind imediately. So this brings me to my question.

Is there a sort of "meta" way of playing the vodyani, like a way of playing that is arguably the most effective way of not falling behind early on both in terms of score, tech, industry, military etc. Like is the way to go early on lots of leeching? lots of colonising? should colonies be close together, or placed wherever there is an opportunity to settle. So many related questions and I'm curious to hear what you guys have to say. Please let me know how it is you try and get ahead of the game as Vodyani, or at least to not fall behind early on because of overcolonisation or over focusing one area of play.

When (and how) should i start building fleet to be most efficient? 6 years ago

Pretty much title. I always seems to struggle with early fleet, something that happened with me in othr 4x games (Civilization), but not in ES1. It always looks like there is too much improvements to build, and ship cost always just a little bit higher then i'd liked it to be. So, what is the best strategy?
